Many people are familiar with the adage about getting right back on the horse after you’ve fallen off. But if you think about it carefully, that advice could be very wrong. The idea behind it is to stay strong, and to face your fears directly without backing off. But in reality, if you were to fall off a horse, you might be physically or even emotionally injured, and getting right back on could be the worst advice of all. You aren’t ready to get back on a certain horse yet, Loren, and that’s okay. Wait until you’re ready.
